Features

Everything you need to put QuickBooks Desktop in reach of your assistant

Orvanta QBD is deliberately narrow: it does one thing — give an AI assistant safe, accurate access to your company file — and it does it thoroughly.

The essentials

Three things that matter most

  • Ask your books a question, get a real answer

“Who is over 60 days past due?” “What did we spend with this vendor last quarter?” Your AI assistant reads the answer straight from QuickBooks Desktop and shows you the rows behind it — no export, no spreadsheet, no waiting on someone to pull it.

  • Read-only until you say otherwise

Orvanta QBD ships locked down. The AI can look, not touch. If you later want it to draft an invoice or a bill, you enable that deliberately — and every change is previewed for you before it is committed.

  • Your books never leave your building

Orvanta QBD is software you install and run yourself, next to QuickBooks. There is no Orvanta cloud in the middle and no copy of your company file anywhere else. We never see your data.

In detail

What you get once it is running

  • Your whole company file, not five tables

Customers, invoices, bills, estimates, sales orders, purchase orders, checks, deposits, journal entries, the chart of accounts, items, employees and the line-level detail underneath them — around 80 areas of QuickBooks in all.

  • The reports you already run

Profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger, A/R and A/P aging, sales by customer and by item, customer and vendor balances — available for the assistant to pull on request.

  • Works with the QuickBooks you already have

Pro, Premier and Enterprise, current and older years. Orvanta QBD checks what your company file supports and offers exactly that — so an older file simply shows fewer fields instead of throwing errors at you.

  • Nothing is written without your confirmation

When write access is switched on, the assistant first shows you what it intends to change. Nothing reaches your books until you confirm it, and it never silently retries a failed write.

  • Control who can do what

Grant one person read-only access and another the ability to create bills. Permissions are set on the QuickBooks machine, so they hold no matter what the AI client is asked to do.

  • A complete record of every request

Who asked, when, what they asked for and whether it succeeded — kept in a tamper-evident log on your own machine, ready for your auditors. Financial figures themselves are never written into logs.

In practice

Where teams see the time back

  • Answer the question without pulling a report

“Which customers are more than 60 days past due, and what did they buy last quarter?” Asked in plain English, answered from today's numbers, with the underlying rows there to check.

  • Get through the close faster

Pull the trial balance and ledger detail, compare against last period, and have the assistant draft the variance commentary — with the figures it used attached.

  • Stop rebuilding the same spreadsheet

Aging, sales by item, customer balances: the recurring pulls someone does by hand every month become a question you ask once.

  • Bring AP and AR into your team's AI workflow

With write access enabled, the assistant can draft bills and invoices for you to approve — each one previewed before it is committed, and each one logged.
